How to prevent frozen pipes?

There are many steps you can take to prevent frozen pipes. First, insulate attics, basements and crawl spaces. Seal any cracks or openings around windows and doors. Keep the heat on, even when you are away from home. If pipes are exposed to cold, keep water running at a trickle. For plumbing on exterior walls, keep cabinet doors open.

What to do if a pipe is frozen?

If you turn on the faucet on a freezing winter day and no water comes out, you likely have a frozen pipe. If you can locate the area where the pipe is frozen, you can try to thaw it using a space hair dryer, space heater or warm towel. Just avoid anything with a flame. If you are not able to locate or thaw the pipe, give us a call!

What to do if a pipe bursts?

Turn off the main water valve and shut off electricity to the affected area. Assess the area of the burst for damage. If the pipe burst was on an upper level, see if the water has moved to a lower level. Take photographs of the damage for your insurance company and call our team for expert repair.
